Teaching Values
As an international educator, I design and facilitate inclusive, inquiry-driven learning experiences that empower students to grow as confident, capable, and compassionate individuals. My work is grounded in the belief that every learner deserves to be seen, heard, and challenged in ways that honor their identity, language, and lived experience.
I approach curriculum and learning design with intentionality and flexibility, drawing on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and student-centered practices to ensure equitable access to knowledge. I nurture multilingualism and multicultural perspectives as assets, creating classroom environments where diversity is not only acknowledged but celebrated as essential to deep understanding.
Assessment in my practice is meaningful and reflective. I prioritize assessment for and as learning, using formative feedback, dialogue, and goal-setting to strengthen learner agency. Students are encouraged to think critically, reflect thoughtfully, and take ownership of their growth. Through inquiry and multiple modes of expression, they develop conceptual understanding while building confidence in their voice.
Collaboration is central to my work. I actively engage with colleagues to share best practices, co-construct curriculum, and reflect on teaching and learning. I believe that professional dialogue and collective responsibility are essential to building strong learning communities. By fostering trust, openness, and shared leadership, I contribute to cultures where educators learn from one another and students benefit from cohesive, inclusive practice.
As a DEIJB advocate, I support the development of equitable and inclusive environments that nurture diversity, belonging, and justice. I strive to lead through example—encouraging reflection, dialogue, and action that center identity, voice, and community. For me, education is leadership, and leadership begins with creating spaces where everyone can grow with confidence and authenticity.
